Community Outreach

"You shall love your neighbour as yourself." Mark 12:31

Jesus taught us to love our neighbour as we love ourselves, to help those in need, and to tell them the Good News of their Salvation. Our neighbour is anyone and everyone we meet.

I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you took me into your home. I needed clothes, and you gave me something to wear. I was sick, and you took care of me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ Matthew 25:34-40

Loving - Serving - Growing

In everything we do, we try to please God and to please others as much as this is possible. We would not like to be hungry, thirsty, sick, ignored in prison or unloved and uncared for by the people around us. Also, we would not want to be kept in the dark about what Jesus has done for us and the fact that if we put our faith in Him we can be saved from sin and death, and we will receive eternal life. It is far too important.

Mission - We try to reach out to people living in our community and to help with missions operating in our nation and throughout the world wherever and however we can - sometimes just through prayer or financial aid. At the moment we support: Christian Response to Eastern Europe by sending out Christmas Shoe Boxes to children living in poverty, the El-Shaddai Charitable Trust Ltd which rescues children from the streets and slums of Goa in India, Open Doors, and London City MissionTo read more about these click on Mission Links.

Community - We offer help for those living in our community with needs via our Baby Bank and Making a Difference. Also, we have links with and support The Rock Christian Bookshop in Teignmouth, Exeter Street Pastors, Good News for Everyone (formerly Gideon's UK). Baby Bank  Making a Difference

Fun in Sharing - As we love to have fun and to meet new people, we often open up these experiences and invite others to join us for our special interactive church services, or our Messy Church, Carols in the Bar at Christmas with mince tarts and clotted cream, quizzes, and much more. Messy Church  Data Protection Legal Compliance

Friendship - When we meet people who don't know anything about Jesus or what it means to follow Jesus, we hope that they will find us to be kind, friendly, gentle, caring, and loving people. We hope they will see something of the character of Jesus in us and that they will want to find out more about Him - what He has done for us, He can do for everyone who asks for His help.

Teaching and Guidance - If you are searching for God and for truth, we are always willing to help.  It makes us happy to give away bibles, to share something of our experience and knowledge of Jesus, to pray for you and to offer the opportunity to join an Alpha Course which is a nice relaxing and informal way of finding out more. This sometimes leads to a person finding faith and may lead on to Baptism and growth as a believer.

Freedom of Choice - It is not God's way to pressurise people into faith and belief. He gave us all free will to choose. We can all choose to believe or not - and it is God who draws people into faith, not us. All we can do is tell people the amazing difference faith has made to us in our everyday lives - and about the awesome offer Jesus made us all of eternal life which is infinitely too good to refuse.
