Prayer

“Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” Ephesians 6v18

If we ensure that God is in the centre of all that we do – then nothing can go wrong. If He is for us who can be against us? Our Hope is in God Alone. Prayer is our way of life. There is power in the name of Jesus, and a single prayer in his name can change everything!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
 Philippians 4v6

Discovering God - Finding Freedom.  When we pray, we discover God, find His love and are gradually set free from the bad things that bind us in this world. Set our mind and heart on the things above. Our praise, worship, and thanks bring us back to God.  If we confess all our bad thoughts, actions and feelings, stay faithful and persistent, He guides us towards a better way of living. He improves our self-control, makes us better people and more forgiving. Our knowledge of God increases and we gradually learn to trust Him with every aspect of our lives.

Counting Blessings - Being United in Love   God takes the focus away from our own pain and suffering. He shows us the good all around us, and takes away our fears.  He changes our perspective and brings us together in love.

Prayer is great for our health. It cleanses and heals us inside. It can lower our blood pressure, improve our mood, encourage our emotional balance, provide comfort and security, promote overall well-being and positive energy. It improves our attention span, reduces worry, anxiety, stress, depression, and protects our brain from cognitive decline in old age.

Anywhere at any time. We pray as we sing hymns together, when we are on our own, in groups or in public, out loud or in the quiet of our own room. We pray for others, our world, our nation, enemies, all the big and small issues that concern us. We sit, kneel, bow down, walk, drive, pray anywhere any time - because He is omnipotent, omniscient omnipresent, and all-seeing. We are one with Him, He is in us and we are in Him. He is personal, patient, persistent, powerful, pervasive - this is how we become more like Him. He is everywhere and He enlightens, enables, and endures.

Pray with your children. Children love to pray, put their hands together, bow their heads, close their eyes and just speak to God. We keep it simple, just give them an easy to remember prayer model - to always thank God first, pray for others second, and pray for self last.

God loves us and hears our Prayers

"God gave His only son (Jesus) that WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM will inherit eternal life."

In the Bible, we read that God wants to be our Father and for us to become His children. He desires a close relationship with us - with you. Jesus encouraged us to pray, and He still prays on our behalf. For those who are unsure how or what to pray, He gave us an example. This is the Lord's Prayer:

"Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be they name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen."

Do you find it hard to pray - perhaps we can help?

Maybe you would like someone to pray with you or for you? Perhaps you would just like to send us a prayer request for yourself or someone you know. If so, please see the contact us page.  We are here and ready to help. Prayer is powerful, it can change everything.

God’s three answers to prayer include – Yes; Not yet; or I have something better in mind.

The greatest tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer, but unoffered prayer.

GOD IS A GOD OF LOVE, GRACE AND MERCY
No one is too bad or too unworthy of being saved.
