Meet our Team

Our church is led by a Leadership Team of Trustees and Stewards, together with a Minister.  At the moment, the minister role is being carried out by a Minister-in-Training from Bristol Baptist College. The Leadership Team oversee the operation of the church and seek God’s direction for pastoring, teaching and serving those in the church and community. The membership plays a big part in discerning God’s guidance in moving forwards, and meets together every few months to discuss ideas and pray.

Ruth Ingrouille 

Ruth Ingrouille - Minister in Training

Ruth is currently studying at Bristol Baptist College and is in North Teignmouth as a Minister-in-Training. She lives in Exeter, where she has worked as a Primary School Teacher for 15 years, before leaving to explore other areas of ministry. Ruth loves all things out-of-doors and coastal, and is partial to an open fire. She gets excited by talking about Jesus with people, and enjoys the challenge of finding creative ways to enable people of all ages to connect with God.

Gerald Johnson

Gerald Johnson - Steward

Gerald has been part of North Teignmouth Community Church for many years.
He is a thoughtful speaker and leader, often involved in Sunday preaching.
Gerald also is keen to support small group fellowship within the church,
preparing mid-week bible studies to share together.

Ros Ede

Ros Ede - Steward

Ros is a a lady with a real heart for Jesus and for people. Together with Roger,
Ros instigated Street Pastors’ work in Torbay, and also heads up the Ladies’
Lounge in Newton Abbot, supporting women who have experienced domestic
violence and abuse. Ros is a real pray-er and a good friend to welcome anyone.

Roger Ede

Roger Ede - Steward

Roger is married to Ros and has worked with her in many different guises. His
background is in the world of finance, and he has a good head for strategy and
figures. Roger looks to serve North Teignmouth Community Church in whatever
ways he can, from helping children at Messy Church to serving communion on a
Sunday morning. Together with Ros, he also makes a great Sunday roast!

Colin Matthews

Colin Matthews - Chair of Trustees

Colin is an experienced member of the Trustees of North Teignmouth Community Church, and his clear thinking and careful approach is valuable to us all. Colin is also responsible for the Health and Safety elements of our work, and liaises closely with our friends in the Community Association from whom we book the space in the Hall for our worship and activities.


Judy Matthews

Judy Matthews - Treasurer/Trustee

Judy is married to Colin and has lived in Devon since the 1960s. She has been a member of North Teignmouth Community Church since 2006. Having spent all her working life in administration and finance for various companies, Judy is great at making sure things run smoothly. She is glad to be able to use her skills to serve God in applying good stewardship of the resources the church is blessed with.

Ruth Cole

Ruth Cole - Secretary/Trustee and Designated Person for Safeguarding

Ruth has a real heart for people. She has been a lieutenant for Girls’ Brigade, run a church creche, supported children/vulnerable adults in court and volunteered for Victim Support. She has also been a befriender with Volunteering in Health. On top of all this, Ruth also serves as our Secretary, and keeps on top of our safeguarding concerns. Nicky White

Nicky White - Trustee / Baby Bank Coordinator

Nicky serves as one of our Trustees. She supports many areas of church life, and is frequently helping behind the scenes at Messy Church. In addition, Nicky is the key coordinator for the Baby Bank, which seeks to provide practical support for families in need within the Teignmouth area.
